Greywater Workshop
A Green Café Workshop on Saturday, September 13 in Eldorado
Did you know that water used for irrigation constitutes around 40 percent of total water consumption in our area? And this water is the fresh stuff – the water that you drink and pay for each month. What if you knew how to collect and recycle the grey water from your sink or tub or washing machine and use it to irrigate your lawn and garden? Join us at this free workshop sponsored by the Sustainable Eldorado Residents Alliance (SERA) and HarvestH2o where we will discuss the following topics:
- What is grey water and why you should care about it. Is it safe?
- What is the difference between grey water and black water?
- What are the existing federal, state, and county laws that regulate grey water use in the home?
- What are the advantages and drawbacks for using grey water to irrigate?
- Can I use grey water on my home grown fruits and vegetables?
- How do I collect and recycle grey water in my home?
