I have only collected New Mexico, Washington state and Oregon. Please take a free book. Send this information to me at doug [at] HarvestH2o.com and in exchange you will get a FREE book. Send me your choice of one of books below when you send the statute.

Every Drop for Sale: Our Desperate Battle Over Water by Jeffery Rothfeder

The Rough Guide to Climate Change 1 (Rough Guide Reference) by Robert Henson

Drinking Water Book by Colin Ingram, published 2006.

Water Conservation Tip of the Month

WaterSense labeled faucets save energy used to treat and pump water. Letting your faucet run for five minutes uses as much energy as burning a 60-watt light bulb for 14 hours! Read more conservation tips.

Reader Question

Recent question from a reader in the great white north.

Question: We live in an area with a lot of snow and it will break off the gutters. What do you recommend?

Answer: Depending on the angle of the roof, a roof snow scraper to manually clean the roof or an electric roof de-icing cable like the ones from EasyHeat in Connecticut or the SRF-RG Commercial Grade Roof & Gutter Heat Trace Cable from Chromalox in Pennsylvania.

WaterHogRainwater HOG is the smart way to store rainwater. The original modular rainwater tank, HOG was architecturally designed in Australia and tested under drought conditions.. Rainwater HOG’s environmentally forward design includes 100% recyclable, food grade plastic, space-saving dimensions, and threaded connectors, allowing a reusable, extendable DIY system with a longer useful working life. HOG modules work horizontally or vertically, under decks, along walls and against fences, and can add significant thermal mass to lightweight structures.
